How to update the software of Merish5

THROUGH WI-FI or ETHERNET CABLE ( Note: Version 2.4 is not yet available via WiFi or Ethernet )

If you have a Merish5 PLUS go to this page.

1.Check for a new version
It is necessary to first connect Merish5 to the Internet (via WiFi stick or cable), then enter OPTIONS and tap on UTILITY. If a yellow update symbol appears in the "Software Update" button, it means that a new version is available.

2.Update the software
On the UTILITIES page of OPTIONS click on "Software Update." Merish5 will automatically download and install the new version. Follow the directions on the display until the update is complete.

N.B. Make sure you don't have any other files named "m5SysSw.upd" in your pc's Download folder.

1.Check the current version of Software mounted on Merish5
To check the version number currently installed on the machine simply enter OPTIONS and tap on SYSTEM.

2.Download software version 2.4
- The updated version of Merish5 BASE firmware can be downloaded as an .upd file from this link.
- Once you have downloaded the UPD file, copy it inside a USB stick.
- Remove the USB stick from your PC.

3.Update the software on Merish5
- Insert the USB stick into one of Merish5's USB ports.
- Wait for Merish to recognize it (let the USB button be visible in the BRANCH window).
- Tap on OPTIONS and tap on UTILITY, under SOFTWARE UPDATE tap on the UPDATE button.
- Merish5 recognizes the presence of the new firmware and begins the update process which may take a few minutes.
- Follow the prompts when the update is complete.

(NOTE: at the end of the copying process, Merish may present the "Restart" button: if so, disconnect the usb stick, tap on restart, and when the logo appears on the display, turn the machine off and on again)

- Wait for Merish5 to start and once the startup is finished, check the software version as mentioned in step 1, if the update has not happened repeat the procedure.

The following update modes are also enabled with this release:

VIA LIVE MANAGER

1.Download the software
N.B.: If you have Merish5 Manager installed you can skip to step 2.
- The updated version of Live Manager can be downloaded HERE for windows and HERE for Mac.
- Install the software and wait for the installation to finish.

2.Start transfer mode
- Turn on Merish5.
- Connect Merish5 to WiFi or LAN network on the OPTIONS - NETWORK page and wait for Merish to recognize the connection and indicate Connected in the notification area.
- Return to the main screen by exiting OPTIONS.
- On the main screen without any song loaded you can see 3 buttons in the Karaoke lyrics section.
- Tap the leftmost TRAFER button.

3.Steps on the Live Manager
- Make sure your PC is connected to the same LAN as Merish5
- Open the Merish5 Manager software on PC/Mac.
- Wait for the Live Manager to recognize the Merish and the screen with the list of files on PC (Left) and on Merish (Right) will open
- Click the Options button (Gear icon) at the top corner of the application.
- A page with 4 buttons will be presented, click the middle button that says " SYSTEM UPDATE your Merish", a loading window will be presented, wait until it completes.
- When finished close Live Manager, return to Merish5 and exit the data transfer.

4.On Merish5
- Go to the OPTIONS - UTILITIES page and under Software Update. tap UPDATE.

DIRECTLY FROM MERISH5

1.Connecting to the network
- Turn on Merish5.
- Connect Merish5 to the WiFi or LAN network on the OPTIONS - NETWORK page and wait for Merish to recognize the connection and indicate Connected in the notification area.

2.Software Update
- Remaining on the OPTIONS page .
- Tap the UTILITY tab .
- Under the Software Update. tap UPDATE.
- Merish5 will check for new updates online and if present will present a window where it asks for confirmation to perform the update.
- Tap Yes and wait for the update installation to complete.
- Once completed turn the machine off and on again.
