Check on Merish5 that the current version of the firmware mounted on is 1.8 or higher: enter OPTIONS and tap on SYSTEM.
If you find a version lower than 1.8 in the "Software Version" field , you must first perform the update (see).
If the version is correct, you can update the sound bank.
Attention! The process of updating sounds takes more than 2 hours and, once started, cannot be interrupted.
(NOTE: If for some reason the process is interrupted in the middle, MIDI files will no longer be able to play. Should this happen, you must repeat the sound update procedure until you are successful)
As with the firmware, Merish sounds can be updated via the Internet or through a USB flash drive.
1.Check for a new sound bank
You must first connect Merish5 to the Internet (via WiFi pen or cable), then enter OPTIONS and tap on UTILITY. If a yellow update symbol appears in the "Update Sounds" button, it means a new bank is available.
2.Click on "Update Sounds": Merish5 automatically downloads and installs the new version. The download time is variable and depends on the speed of the network. Indicatively, it can range from 5 to 15 min.
Once the file is downloaded, the update in the machine begins. Follow the directions on the display until finished.
1. Make sure you don't have any other files called "m5SoundBank_C.bin" in the Downloads folder on your pc.
2.Download the Sound Bank
- The updated version (rel. "SB191110" ) can be downloaded as a .bin file by clicking THIS LINK,
- The updated version for XYNTHIA2 (rel. "SB990002") can be downloaded as a .bin file by clicking THIS LINK.
- Once you have downloaded the BIN file, copy it inside a USB stick.
- Remove the USB stick from your PC.
3.Updating Sounds on Merish5
- Insert the USB stick into one of Merish5's USB ports.
- Wait for Merish to recognize it (let the USB button be visible in the BRANCHES window).
- Tap on OPTIONS and tap on UTILITY, under UPDATE SOUNDS tap on the UPDATE button.
- Merish5 recognizes the presence of the new firmware and begins the update process.
- Follow the prompts when the update is complete.
WARNING. THE XYNTHIA2 SOUND BANK IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MERISH5 WITHOUT FIRST DOING THE XYNTHIA2 INSTALLATION.
